Yes, food spoils and needs to be consumed rather than hoarded, but when carrying other materials around for building, you generally want more available inventory space. Whether you want to put a focus on points here depends largely on how you play, but for many players, the ability to carry more in a survival game is always welcome. You want to be able to keep sprinting away when things go badly Encumbrance If you manage your sprinting and combat properly through lots of practice, however, you can keep Grit to a minimum and place those points elsewhere. There are ways to game the system and handle your stamina based on skill rather than raw stats, but in general, it's a bad idea to have a low pool of stamina in combat situations (especially in PvP).Īt the very least, getting to 20 in Grit for the bonus stamina regeneration is a good idea in most builds. If you tend to get hit a lot, then it can be a better stat to focus on, but for the most part, it's better to avoid getting hit in the first place by staying out of harm's way or simply having more health from the Vitality stat. With a direct impact on your armor's effectiveness, Agility seems really useful at first, but in most cases, you really only need to put 10 points in here to get reduced stamina loss from sprinting. This remains true in either a solo private server of a PvP scenario, as the many obstacles in the terrain and the stamina system mean that you can pretty much always chase an opponent down and eventually force a confrontation instead of having to hit them from afar with a bow.

If you put a ton of points in here and really focus on bows, you can get something halfway decent going with your Conan Exiles build, but frankly, it's a better idea to go with Strength and a melee weapon.

In other words, this is dump stat number two, and it's best avoided. AccuracyĪt the moment, ranged combat just flat-out isn't as damaging or efficient as melee combat.

Presumably, the developers will change how this stat works in a future patch to make it worthwhile, but for now, put your points elsewhere instead of lighting them on fire and watching them burn with Survival. Sources of food and water are plentiful, and you can craft items like berry pulp that are much more efficient than water skins, so it's just an all-around worthless stat.

Picture a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest, and you are almost at the utter uselessness that is the Survival skill. More than just a dump stat, Survival is pretty actively pointless in nearly all scenarios. Any remaining points can be spread across the rest of the stats (except for Survival, which you don't need). No matter what your particular build focus is, in general, it should have Vitality highest, then decide if your next-best stat should be Encumbrance, Strength, or Grit then focus on the other two. For the TL:DR version, here's the basics of what you need to know: While choosing your stat build, keep in mind that you can actually respec at any time by brewing a yellow lotus potion with 10 yellow lotus blossoms, so trying out different builds isn't all that difficult.īelow we cover all the worst and best stats to focus on for a killer build.
